i own a mahindra 4500 2wd but i am a big fan of the kubota mx5000, anyway i was just looking at it on the kubota web site, the specs and all that, then i looked at the competative comparison part........all their comparisons for a mahindra was a 4500 2wd and the mx was 4wd specs...it should have been compared to a mahindra 4500 4wd or 55004wd, a lot of things are different like the shuttle transmission independant pto ect. in the comments on the right side it sais "big advantage over mahindra" kubota has nice machines, they should'nt have to be deceptive like this. I didnt look at mahindra competitive comparisons....maybe they do it to I dont know, but I'll find out.

I think that Kubota compares similarly priced machines so that you can see all the extras you are getting for the same money. Trying goign to the BX line for comparisons, and you will see a 2wd JDs that do not compare in standard features, however they are the same price. ....

Just wondering,

How do you know the brand Kubota is comparing to is not 4 wd? If looking at the comparision on the MX model I see info on 2 wd and 4 wd.

On the BX (the higher BC model is what I looked at) model comparision I did not see it mentioned. Are you having to go to the exact model spec sheet for the models?

....

i know this because i own a 4500 2wd. the kubota comparison shows mahindra with a live pto, the 4wd has independant pto but 2wd has live, also the 4wd tranny has a shuttle the 2wd does not. its not a price comparison either because the MX5000 is much more expencive than a mahindra 4500 2wd or else i would be an MX owner. check it out for yourself this really is deliberate deception. but right after i send this im going to mahindra usa and see if they are doing the same thing. will let you know shortly. ....

ok i just pulled up a 4530 on mahindrausa.com this is probably the most comparable, its 42hp 3cylinder, MX5000 is 50 hp 4 cylinder of course the 5500 4wd is 4cylinder but its 54hp.
anyway they didnt have a competetive comparison, they just had a compare mahindra models link.
i do understand the weight disadvantage of the MX5000 because this is a tractor thats smaller than ag and bigger than compact and the mahindras are full ag. this is why i was attracted to the MX5000.
BUT....the kubota competitive comparison is deceptive. ....

ok i just looked at the spec sheet on MX5000 at kubota.com
the 2wd is live pto 4wd is independent.
so the big advantage over mahindra is starting to sound like propaganda. ....

I was not trying to imply you were wrong, just wondered how you knew that.

Goes to the old saying of buyer beware? ....

oh heck no, i didnt take it like that at all, and belive me if i see mahindra pulling this i will point it out the minit i see it. ill tell you this though, the other day i was trying to dig out some shallow area in my drought stricken pond, its a real tricky area thats narrow and turns, anyway the lighter smaller 4wd MX5000 would have come in real handy because i couldnt do it with this machine with fel, could only use box blade. ....
